Happy Birthday πŸŽπŸŽ‚πŸŽŠπŸŽ‰πŸ·

Have a great birthday, birth week, birth month… wishing you the best for the year ahead. Here is the dinner we’d cook for you if nearby (ask someone to cook it for you!)

Most of this can all be made in advance with an eclectic menu from Greece to China..and a little American. You can make most of this advance and go through one course at a time.

Photographer: β€œI hope, sir, that I will shoot your picture on your hundredth birthday.”

Churchill: β€œI don’t see why not, young man. You look reasonably fit and healthy.”

Winston Churchill, 1949

Spicy Herbed Little Neck Clams

I grew up on steamers with a big belly that you would dunk in clam broth to get the sand out, then dunk again in butter before eating. I had my first little neck clam when I ordered spaghetti alle vongole, and have never gone back to steamers. There are many ways to make theseContinue Reading

Overloaded Greek Salad with Grilled Mustard Shrimp

There are all sorts of Greek salads, from very simply-dressed fresh vegetables with feta to this one – overdone, you name it, you can find it in here. I love these salads during the off season, when you need to wake up out-of-season vegetables. Dressing Ingredients 1 tablespoon fresh dill leaves, finely chopped 1 tablespoonContinue Reading

Chocolate Chunk Pumpkin Spice Bundt Cake

The bundt cake has a stigma of Grandma’s house specialty. This is a great cake that is very easy to make and serves as something for just about every meal, from dinner dessert to a breakfast treat. Ingredients 16 tablespoons unsalted butter, room temperature, separated 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour and extra to prepare theContinue Reading
