Christmas Eve is always a great time to gather with friends and family. If you really want to warm up a part try this punch that is always a great kick off to a very fun night. We have put together several holiday ideas in the past but here are some of our favorite foods to serve for a holiday cocktail party:
Appetizers
- Potatoes latkes or their zucchini sister: Either of these are a great treat that are not usually on the Christmas party circuit menu. You can do a lot of the prep work in advance
- Baked stuffed clams: Easy and delicious, the only trick is to serve as needed so the clams stay warm
- Sweet & spicy bacon or caramelized bacon: It took us years to figure out buy small skewers, cut the bacon in half and you have a truly easy to eat party favorite from decades ago
- Grilled shrimp with turmeric sauce: Found this amazing dish on a small island off of Portland, Maine. People are over shrimp in cocktail sauce, switch it up with this flavorful start to a party
- Salt & pepper Marcona almonds: Put out at the bar
- Beef carpaccio: This will take some advance work with your butcher but it commands attention at the appetizer table
- Asian lettuce wraps: A little messy but a lot delicious, make sure you serve with plates
- Mini puff pastry pizzas: Inspired by the late night menu at Claridges, these snacks are always a big hit
- Fontina wrapped with prosciutto: This is a common item at a steak house, but rarely made at home
- Grilled halloumi cheese: Opa! Great dish with cocktails
- Hummus with lamb: Your guests will think your exotic by serving this with warm pita bread
- Salmon ceviche: Lite and delicious, hearty even
- Chicken parmesan & mozzarella balls: If you are feeling adventuresome and want to make a statement at your party then start frying these flavor packed snacks up
- Camembert spanakopita: Old school but can make in advance and always a big hit
You can always dig around to see what else you might like:
