LPB Steak Bites

img_6315Well you have all seen Wesley’s world famous Marinated Skirt Steak and I think everyone who has been on this blog has made it or eaten it at LPB.  It’s amazing. We made a variation of it the other day by getting boneless short ribs and slicing them very thinly and marinating  them in Wesley’s not so secret mix and added some Sriracha for an extra kick.


  • 3 Pounds boneless short ribs
  • 1/2 Cup each of canola oil, ketchup, soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons each of dried oregano, dried chopped onion bits, dried chopped garlic bits
  • Three tablespoons of Sriracha
  • juice of one lemon and don’t worry about the seeds
  • 1 teaspoon of kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of freshly ground pepper

Making It

  • Unwrap the steaks, slice thinly  and season with the salt and pepper, set aside
  • Whisk together the oil, ketchup, soy, oregano, onion, garlic and lemon juice in a mixing bowl
  • Add the meat to the bowl and marinate a minimum of 8 hours or overnight
  • Turn a cast iron skillet to a hot temperature and cook the steak quickly
  • Serve with toothpicks
