You can pick up roasted pita chips just about anywhere but you can also save big when you make your own.  Home made pita chips also look a lot better and taste much fresher, especially when served warm

Making It

  • Set the oven to 350
  • Split the pitas with a knife, put on a banking sheet, splash with olive oil and sprinkle, liberally, with kosher salt and freshly ground pepper
  • Roast on middle rack for 10-12 minutes.  Rotate racks if you are doing more than banking sheet
  • Rub each toasted pita with a garlic clove that has been cut in half
  • Break by hand and serve
Toasted Pitas are a great delivery vehicle for hummus
